ChatGPT Pricing in 2026: Free, Go, Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise
Guide published on October 31, 2026, compiled from OpenAI's business pricing page, OpenAI's help center and price surveys conducted from France in October 2026. OpenAI changes its offers and models several times per quarter: the amount displayed at the time of payment is binding.
ChatGPT costs from €0 to €510 per month for individuals, and from €21 per user per month for teams. The free version and the €8 Go plan are sufficient for occasional use, with advertising. ChatGPT Plus, at €23 including VAT per month, remains the standard subscription for professional use: it provides access to GPT-6 Sol, Deep Research, agent mode, and Codex. The three Pro tiers, from $100 to $500, don't offer a different basic model but rather increased storage capacity and a professional approach. For businesses, ChatGPT Business covers 2 to 200 users, and Enterprise is priced on a quote basis. This guide details each price, what it includes, and how to choose the right plan without paying for unnecessary services.

Offers for individuals are displayed inclusive of all taxes in France. The price of the Pro tiers in euros is higher than a simple conversion from dollars because it includes VAT. If you subscribe through the iPhone or Android app, the price is set by the app store and may differ from the website price. No Pro plan offers an annual discount; only the Business plan offers a discount with an annual commitment.
Free ChatGPT and ChatGPT Go: what you get for €0 or €8
The free version works on the web, on computers, and on mobile devices, with a simple account. Since October 8, 2026, it has run on GPT-6 Luna, the lightweight version of the GPT-6 family. It includes chat, web search, file and image analysis (within certain limits), the Think button, and a few limited Deep Search features per month. It does not provide access to GPT-6 Sol, the main model for paid services, nor to the full Deep Search capabilities.
ChatGPT Go arrived in France in December 2025, priced at €8 per month. It retains the same model as the free version but raises the limits: more messages, more files and images, and longer memory. It does not include Deep Research or agent mode. Both offerings have displayed advertising since the beginning of 2026; OpenAI offers an ad-free mode in the free version, in exchange for a lower number of daily messages.

ChatGPT Plus: price and what it includes
ChatGPT Plus costs $20 per month in the United States and €23 (including VAT) per month in France, with no commitment. There is no discounted annual rate for Plus. This is the offering that transforms ChatGPT from a conversational assistant into a work tool. It adds to the free offerings:
- GPT-6 Sol, the main OpenAI model, in conversation since October 7, 2026, and GPT-6.1 Sol in ChatGPT Work and Codex.
- Deep Researchwhich conducts a multi-minute literature search and produces a sourced report. The latest figures published by OpenAI showed 10 full searches and 15 abridged searches per month.
- Agent modewhich navigates, fills out forms and completes steps for you.
- Codex, the OpenAI code agent, with a standard envelope.
- Projects and plugins (the creation of custom GPTs is closed; existing ones must be migrated to plugins before December 11, 2026), to maintain the context of a case and reuse instructions.
- No advertising.
Like its competitors, OpenAI doesn't publish a specific number of messages for Plus: usage depends on the chosen model, the length of the exchanges, and the tools used. ChatGPT Pro 100, Pro 200, Pro 500: three tiers for volume
OpenAI now offers three Pro subscriptions, billed monthly with no annual discount. Price checks conducted from France show approximately €103 for Pro 100, €229 for Pro 200, and €510 for Pro 500.

Pro doesn't offer a smarter ChatGPT for everyday tasks: the conversation model remains GPT-6 Sol. It buys volume, Pro reasoning on GPT-6 Astra for complex problems, and a much larger Codex envelope. Pro 500's Ultrafast mode speeds up text production in Work and Codex but consumes the envelope approximately eight times faster. As for Dots, the always-on agent offered to Pro and Business Premium subscribers, it's not available in the European Economic Area, and therefore not in France.
Pro is justified in two cases: you reach the Plus limit several times a week, or you entrust Codex or ChatGPT Work with lengthy tasks every day. ChatGPT Business: the price for a team
ChatGPT Business, formerly ChatGPT Team, is designed for teams of 2 to 200 people. OpenAI lists a standard seat at $20 per user per month with an annual commitment, or $25 per month; in France, pricing is listed at €21 per year and €26 per month. A premium seat, at $100 per year and $125 per month, provides larger budgets for larger users, and both types of seats can be combined in the same workspace.
What Business adds compared to an individual Plus subscription:
- The data is not used to train the models, by default and contractually.
- Security and administration SAML single sign-on, two-factor authentication, administration console, administrator roles, domain verification, single billing, SOC 2 Type 2 compliance.
- Over 60 connectorsincluding Slack, Google Drive, SharePoint, GitHub and Atlassian, to query your tools from ChatGPT.
- Shared projects and workspace GPTs, to share instructions and reference documents.
- Codex, Deep Research, data analysis, and the canvas.
What Business doesn't understand, and what is pushing large organizations towards Enterprise: account management by SCIM, encryption key management, role-based access controls, usage dashboard, list of authorized IP addresses, data residency and deployment support.
Licenses don't guarantee adoption: a team equipped with Business applications that hasn't learned to structure its projects and GPTs is paying for seats that are rarely used. ChatGPT Enterprise: price upon request
ChatGPT Enterprise does not have a public price: OpenAI sells it through its sales team, with invoice-based billing and volume discounts. The offering targets organizations with more than 200 users or those with stringent compliance requirements. It adds to Business:
- Large-scale identity management SCIM, role-based access controls, domain verification.
- Data mastery : management of encryption keys by the company, customized retention period, encryption at rest and in transit, and data residency in ten regions.
- The pilot : user usage dashboard.
- The Rack : priority 24-hour support, service level commitments, tailored legal terms.
- An expanded context window for long documents.
Educational institutions use ChatGPT Edu, which is subscribed to by the school or university. There is no general student discount on Plus.
How much does ChatGPT cost a team: three numerical examples
Here are three annual budgets calculated on prices recorded in France in October 2026 for the standard Business seat, excluding negotiated discounts.

Annual payments save approximately 20%, but commit you to a fixed number of seats. It's better to start with a monthly plan with a pilot group, assess actual usage for two or three months, and then switch to an annual plan. Usage credits for high-volume users and the cost of premium seats, if you choose, can be added to these amounts.
The price of the OpenAI API
The API is used to integrate OpenAI models into your own applications or agents. It is paid for in millions of tokens, in dollars, with entry and exit fees specific to each model, and is completely separate from subscriptions: a ChatGPT Plus or Business account does not provide any API credit. Five ways to pay less for ChatGPT
- Switch to a yearly Business plan once usage has been measured : approximately 20% savings.
- Don't equip everyone with Pro gear A standard chair is sufficient for the vast majority of office uses.
- Mix standard and premium seats in Business rather than giving individual Pro subscriptions.
- Open a new conversation by topic : a conversation that gets longer uses more envelope with each reply.
- Cancel from the right place : a subscription taken out on iPhone or Android is cancelled in the app store, not on chatgpt.com.
