SATT Network: Generative AI adopted from SATT to SATT, by recommendation
Since 2024, NextStart has been training SATT teams in generative AI: Conectus in Alsace, Ouest Valorisation in Rennes, Lutech in Paris, Nord in Lille and Pulsalys in Lyon, trained in the fall of 2026. A one-day practical format, calibrated for compact structures where all employees are trained at once, and which spreads from SATT to SATT.
The starting point: specialized skills, compact structures
Technology Transfer Acceleration Companies (SATTs) transform the results of public research into innovations for businesses: detection, intellectual property, maturation, licensing, and startup creation. Their teams combine business developers, technology transfer officers, legal experts, and project managers, in a sufficiently compact structure that a single day is enough to train the entire organization and create an immediate common framework.
The decision-making process is short and the network is tight: the presidents of SATTs know each other, and references are checked from president to president before each new mission.
The first mission took place at Conectus in 2024. Ouest Valorisation followed at the end of 2025, then Lutech and Nord in the first half of 2026. The fifth, Pulsalys, trained its 39 employees at the start of 2026: in three years, the technology transfer network has become a reference territory for NextStart.
The setup: one day, four capacities
The same framework from one SATT to another, with use cases rewritten each time for the professions of research valorization.
A day for the entire structure
In the morning: fundamentals of generative AI, live demonstration, best practices for prompting, then Prompt Party Research and writing in subgroups. Afternoon: Prompt Party Synthesize and analyze, ranking of the best cases by business table, and conclusion on data security, the AI Act and the human in the loop.
Use cases of technology transfer
Partner and market research, market monitoring and research, comparative analysis of proposals, writing and summarizing reports: the four skills are developed on situations specific to value creation, not on generic examples.
Level groups, an organizational tool
Groups formed according to daily or non-daily use of AI, direct practice by each person on their workstation and on the secure tool of the SATT, and an opening Masterclass when the structure wishes, as at SATT Nord.
From one SATT to another
Conectus in 2024, Ouest Valorisation in 2025, Lutech and Nord in the first half of 2026, Pulsalys in the fall of 2026: each mission feeds into the next, with feedback from some refining the use cases of others.
The results
Five structures formed between 2024 and September 2026, in a network where the recommendation between presidents serves as a demonstration.
Pedagogy, concrete and diverse cases, practical application during sessions and direct hands-on experience with the secure tool emerged as top priorities in the SATT Nord questionnaires.
The formation of groups based on daily or non-daily use of AI is emerging as a key point, with the demand to go further for advanced profiles: agents and complex cases.
Direct exchanges between SATT presidents on missions already completed shorten the decision cycle of subsequent structures.
